Sekta Respekt (2022 - Documentary feature)

One editor, one editorial office, one topic that moves our society. The film is a portrait of Czech journalist Ivana Svobodová who tries to have dialogue with people through her profession. Together with her we get to the editorial office of the weekly magazine Respekt, which was established in the Czech Republic after the velvet revolution in 1989 and have gained a fairly exclusive position since that. We see how they works and also struggles with the pitfalls of everyday functioning. Through a portrait of the journalist, other colleagues from the office get into the film and threw their stories and work we get into the backstage of journalism. In today’s changing times of growing fake news, the topic of the media and how to work with information is more important than we realize.
